You think your gym does that? Ask how many trainers hold an NSCA-CSCS or ACSM-CEP. Then ask how many lead every class instead of just watching.

Real credentials mean something. NSCA-CSCS means they’ve passed one of the hardest strength exams out there (and) it covers biomechanics, program design, and testing protocols. Not just how to cheer you on.

ACSM-CEP? They work with high-risk clients. Hypertension.

Diabetes. Post-rehab. If they hold this, they’ve seen real medical charts (not) just Instagram transformations.

NASM-PES is about performance. Not “getting jacked.” Think sport-specific movement screens, fatigue management, power development. Actual science.

Now here’s what I ignore: vague titles like “Complete Wellness Coach” with no accrediting body listed. (Who approved that? Their aunt?)

No documented CEUs in the last two years? Walk away.

And if they can’t show you any client outcome data. Not before/afters, but actual metrics like strength gains or mobility improvements (they’re) guessing.

Verify yourself. Go straight to the NSCA or ACSM directory. Type their name.

See if it pops up. If it doesn’t, it’s fake or expired.

Free trials? Fine (but) don’t judge the coach on their energy during session one. Judge them on consistency.

Did they follow up? Adjust? Remember your knee pain from week two?
